Channel 4 quiz show of a high standard, in which fifteen contestants are whittled down to one winner each episode via general knowledge questions. It originally ran from 1988 to 2003, with William G. Stewart as
presenter, and has since had repeats of selected series on
Challenge. Fifteen to One was revived on Channel 4 in 2013: celebrity episodes have been presented by Adam Hills and other episodes by Sandi Toksvig.
The first Celebrity Fifteen to One special in 1990 had contestants that included Bob Holness (later identified by
The Quest newsletter as a
Knightmare fan), agony aunt Claire Rayner (revealed by
Mark Knight at the 2014
Knightmare Convention to be the inspiration for his portrayal of
Rothberry), Richard Whiteley (original
Countdown host) and Carol Vorderman (Countdown co-host). Richard Whiteley returned as a contestant in the 1992 celebrity episode alongside
Bullseye presenter Jim Bowen. One of 2015's Celebrity Fifteen to One episodes featured Isy Suttie, who had played Veruca/Daisy in the 2013 Geek Week episode of Knightmare).
